Re Joe Anderson and Steve Rotherham letter to Unite Union and Arriva staff

Sir - regarding the letter jointly written by Steve Rotherham and Joe anderson, I wonder if either would be as willing to join with union members of the RMT, UNITE et al on the picket lines to discuss the issues of the bus drivers and the real need for guards on the trains as keenly and as eagerly as Anderson was to engage withTheresa May on Armed Forces Day in Liverpool ?
Moreover a bit of solidarity from any one of the 3 mayors or Cllrs may go some way to making the (misappropriated) words 'Socialist' and  'Labour' council less ambiguous ? (PR stunts and photo opportunities for canvassing and newsletters etc to be excluded, of course).
